We did a day trip out to Phi Phi Islands (where The Beach was partially filmed) on our second day in Phuket. There were soooo many boats in the harbour.
One of the stops on the Phi Phi day trip was 'Monkey Beach'. Full of very naughty little monkeys, that would snatch anything they could get their hands on. Pringles, Pepsi, Cameras...
Maya Bay, at Phi Phi Island. Very beautiful, not so relaxing, as hundreds of other tourists to share the beach with.
The sunsets at Patong Beach, Phuket were beautiful. It was about 35 degrees and 90% humidity everyday we were there.
We also did an Elephant Trek. It was only an hour but we still had a great time.
Elephant ride continued...
Yet another amazing sunset at Patong Beach.
Thai New Year fell while we were visiting. Songkaran Water Festival was on, so we got drenched, along with every other person in town. A huge party! Sean, Mary and Jase with their water guns.
Bang La Road, Patong Beach. By day stalls and bars, by night bars and ping pong.
Needed to take a little time out from all the water and talc on our cheeks to hang out in the pool with a few beers. I tell you, it was pretty tough for us all in Thailand!
Yet another Phuket sunset!
The Baiyoke Sky, our hotel in Bangkok. 83 Floors. We stayed on the 29th. Sean was not too sure about the rotating roof top observation deck, but the view was amazing!
Once in Bangkok we organised a Taxi driver to take us to the Floating Markets, which were about 100kms south of Bangkok. They are definately a must see. Could have spent the whole day there taking photos of all the boats and stalls.
Floating Markets continued...
Sean with Wat Pho, The Reclining Buddha.
Wat Pho continued...
At the Grand Palace, Bangkok. Shannon hadn't shaved her legs so they made her wear this skirt! jk :)
The Grand palace, continued...the detail cannot be clearly seen in these pix, but everthing there is decorated with mosaic.
