Venice

From Naples we travelled almost all day on the train to get back up to Venice. The weather we have had has been amazing. I was really looking forward to venice, I had hear that it is very beautiful, with photographs to be taken at every turn. It was true, I took many photos over the two days we spent in Venice sight seeing.
The Gondolas cost about 80euro for approx. half an hour. They are not cheap but do look very romantic and they are everywhere. We decided to go on on a vaporetti (boat/bus) over to Murano (the glass island) instead.

Basilica di San Marco at Piazza San Marco. The square was packed, I guess you wouldnt be able to move in the peak season. Oh, and tourists pay 1 euro to feed the pigeons, there are so many of them, it is disgusting. You have to keep your head down and hope that you dont get pooped on whilst walking in the area.

Us in front of the Bridge of Sighs. one of the famous Venice landmarks.

As I said, Venice really was a beautiful place. Apparently it is very expensive to live here though, most of the 'locals' actually live in Mestre (which is where we camped) 7kms over the bridge.

Ponte di Rialto.

We went over to Murano, the home of venetian Glass, which is very beautiful, but like almost everyhting in Venice, quite expensive.
